HGV driver had 'clinical episode' in M5 crash close to Worcester

 An Accident on the M5 between a HGV and a vehicle was supposed to be brought about by a truck driver experiencing a "clinical episode".


Two paths were shut on the M5 between intersection 4a and intersection 5 traveling southward this early evening time following the accident, causing a development of traffic.


Albeit no serious wounds were accounted for, West Midlands Rescue vehicle Administration affirmed the driver of the HGV is accepted to have experienced a "clinical episode".


A West Midlands Emergency vehicle Administration representative said: "We were called to reports of a crash between a truck and a vehicle on the southward carriageway of the M5, close to intersection four, at 4.13pm.

"One rescue vehicle and a paramedic official went to the scene. On appearance, we found one patient, a man, who was the driver of the truck.


"Teams were informed he had experienced a thought clinical episode in the driver's seat and following treatment, he was taken to the Alexandra Emergency clinic in Redditch."

West Mercia Police and Public Expressways likewise went to the accident.


A representative for West Mercia Police said: "We were educated regarding a street car accident on the M5 southward between Intersection 4a and 5 soon after 4pm today.


"The mishap included a vehicle and a truck yet there were no serious wounds.


"The Parkways Organization went to the scene as did the emergency vehicle administration to do minds the driver of the HGV.


"Within path of the motorway was impeded by the mishap."


Hereford and Worcester Fire and Salvage Administration are not in participation at the episode.
